The Greek Consulate in Istanbul plans to issue over 200,000 visas to Turkish tourists in 2025 to boost tourism and strengthen ties between Greece and Türkiye.
In 2023, the consulate handled 60% of all Greek visa applications from Turkish nationals, receiving 152,778 applications. Greece also plans to issue more multi-entry visas, making travel easier.
A special visa-on-arrival program introduced in 2024 has already increased Turkish tourism to Greece. At the same time, more Greek travelers are visiting Türkiye, with popular destinations like Istanbul, Izmir, and Bodrum.
