Oman has launched a free 14-day tourist visa. This change was published in the Gulf state’s official gazette on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Now, eligible visitors from designated countries can apply for this free visa to enter Oman. If travellers want to stay longer, they can apply for another type of tourist visa before their free visa runs out, as long as they meet the conditions and pay the required fees.
The move reinforces Oman’s status as a top Gulf destination, known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, from the Hajar Mountains to Salalah’s waterfalls during the Khareef monsoon season. This year’s Khareef season runs from June 21 to September 21, with Dhofar Municipality hosting 125 cultural, artistic, sporting, and entertainment events.
