Starting March 31, 2025, Romanian citizens can travel to the US without a visa for up to 90 days for tourism or business. The US government officially added Romania to the Visa Waiver Program on January 10, making it the 43rd country on the list.
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) will be updated by the end of March to include Romanian travelers. Those with valid B-1/B-2 visas can continue using them.
This move highlights the growing bond between Romania and the US and is expected to boost trade, investment, and tourism.
